October 17th
The Halloween 5k sponsored by the store and KNBT bank and Halloween Parade. We encourage all runners to
dress in costume, but not required. It is the second year for this event and looks like it will be a new
Emmaus tradition.
October 10th, 2009: From 10am to 1pm Author Marc Markowitz will be
here signing copies of his book The Addicted Runner, it is a self depricating book on Mark's adventures in
running. It highlights the humorous side of the average everday runner. There is even a chapter in the book
that our very own Gary Ward is mentioned. As well our other great local author Mark Will-Webber.
October 17th is also the Womens 5k Classic.
All of October we will be Celebrating our 2nd harvest month. We will be
collecting food items to be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank. For your donation this month you will
also receive a discount on your purchase. This was a huge success last year and we look forward to making
even better this year.
Also, ear mark your calendar for Thanksgiving weekend for a memorial run
for Jack Pressmann. As many of you know we lost Jack earlier this year and his family and friends are
organizing a run for this weekend. Time and place TBA.
